Bollywood and TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput has reportedly committed suicide at his home in Mumbai.
The actor was living alone during the lockdown. Police have reached his apartment but the reason has not been revealed yet. It is said that the actor wasn’t feeling well for a few days.
According to the reports, police have informed that the actor was found hanging in his Bandra home. Just five days back, his former manager Disha Salian was found dead.
Sushant used to live away from his family, he was from Bihar. Police Joint Commissioner Vinay Chaube at the spot.
Police has found some medical prescription too from his house.
In one of the first reactions, actor Riteish Deshmukh tweeted: “Shocked beyond words… Sushant Singh Rajput is no more… Deeply saddened.”
Sushant started his career with the Television show Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta. With the Zee TV show, he ruled the hearts of the people for many years.
His on-screen chemistry with actress Ankita Lokhnade was much appreciated by the viewers.
His death came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous Hindi film industry personality to pass away in the past two months, after Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid duo fell prey to the coronavirus pandemic.
For the highly talented actor who received many awards for his roles in movies like M.S., condolences poured in from all directions. Dhoni: The Untold Truth, Kedarnath and P.K.
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing away of young Bollywood actor # SushantSinghRajput, a soul brimming with promise and potential. Our condolences to his colleagues, to his loved ones and to all who have appreciated his work. Gone too soon,” Youth Congress said on social media platform Twitter.
Sushant’s death comes just a week after his former boss Disha Salian committed suicide last Monday by jumping off their apartment’s 14th floor in Mumbai.
“It’s kind of devastating news. My deepest condolences to family and friends of Disha. Can your soul rest in peace,’ said Sushant back then.
“Shocked & profoundly saddened to learn of talented & brilliant actor Sushant Singh Rajput suicide. This unfortunate death of a young & successful individual puts mental health issues in the forefront, especially in these times. RIP,’ said Minister of Union Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri.
The spokesperson for Shiv Sena, Priyanka Chaturvedi, also expressed condolences about his death. “This is Sushant Sinigh Rajput’s most depressing and heart-rending news. I don’t even have words to describe the sorrow I feel. I was an immense fan of his work. This is cruel times. Condolences to his family and friends,’ she said.
